The view of a French garden patio dappled in sunlight depicts a woman perhaps reading a letter near a table just outside a doorway with a canary in a cage close by, displayed in a period frame assumed to be the original.
Canvas measures 21.75 x 18, the frame is 29.5 x 26 inches.
Craquelere, smudging and considerable paint loss to extreme lower right corner around the signature area, repair just below the bird cage, scattered long lines of drip show under black light, very light soiling, only four small touches of inpainting overall. Brown black signature shows dark under ultra violet light.
