505: BLACK FOREST CARVING OF BEARS PRESENTING A THERMOMETER

The 19th century one-piece carving composed of two animated cub bears holding a peaked plaque set with a milk glass scale thermometer with black Arabic numerals incorporating readings for Celcius, Farenheit and third measure represented by letter 'R', stamped ink mark on the base of KARL MOSSDORF 1895.
Measures 13 x 7 x 3.5 inches.
Good condition noting a trim piece from above the thermometer, cracks in the milk glass.
