421: A ROOKWOOD MATTE VASE SIGNED CATHERINE COVALENCO

The amphora form vase with handles and prunus decoration of veined leaves, woody stems and fruit against a cherry red ground, impressed Rookwood monogram with flames and Roman numeral date for 1924 with numerals 2640 and letter E along with the artist's mark. Catherine Covalenco was an accomplished Russian American artist.
Measures 9.5 x 7 inches.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of heavy wear. Minor surface color transfer as shown in the online images.
