6: RARE BURLINGTON & MISSOURI RIVER RR in NEBRASKA LANTERN

The brass top locomotive base lantern with wire frame and cast iron weight inside the base with flattened foot embossed B & M. Neb for Burlington & Missouri River Railroad in Nebraska; stamped maker's mark of M.M. BUCK & CO ST. LOUIS on the brass strap used to release the bayonet lock for font removal, tall extended lip glass globe with cast lettering of B&M IN NEB within rectangular panel and in high relief.

This is believed to be one of only three examples known of this lantern with its early locomotive base and dating to the period of 1878 - 1882.
Very good original uncleaned condition with excellent surface and patina, there are no issues of damage or repair, noting a very minor dent near the M on the edge of the foot.
