33: A LARGE MIDWESTERN FIELD WATER JUG IN VARIOUS COLORS

The beehive form with strap handles either side of the tooled mouth, brown Albany slip over Bristol-type glaze with tobacco-colored glaze at the edges where the two meet and reddish brown glaze around the base, plus a curious ochre colored slip on the shoulder presumably creating a numeral 8, no other markings found.
Measures 20.50 x 12 inches.
Very good condition, noting a bruise on the underside rim of the base. A darkened firing ping lower front. There are no other chips, cracks or repairs.
