The sheet iron tablet mounted with large circular copper plaque in red, white and blue fired-on enamels with exposed copper lettering of STOP ACCIDENTS THIS MOTOR CAR HAS NONE - SAFETY FIRST - centered by the Union Pacific System shield with The Overland Route banner. According to the Union Pacific ''History of the Union Pacific Logo'', shields of this style were from the period around 1914. Enameled plaques for the years 1926 through 1931 are mounted as well.
Measures 11 x 7 inches.
Very good condition, noting chipping to the plaque for 1927 and minor discoloration in some areas of the enameled pieces as well as the sheet iron.
