The exuberant study of a Volkswagen Beetle emerging from an whimsical forest is signed lower right and bears gallery labels verso including The Fenix Gallery, Taos.

Ward Lockwood was born in Atchison, Kansas. He moved to Taos, New Mexico at the age thirty-two, was back in Kansas after the war at the University of Kansas and returned to Taos in 1961.
Sheet measures 13.5 x 22.25 with a framed size of 18.25 x 27 inches.
Apparently the condition is very good, very clean, intact, no visible stain, damage, repair, punctures or tears.
