85: A GOOD, EARLY ELECTRO-THERAPY SANDED WOOD DOCTOR SIGN

The two-sided sanded wood sign with black ground and fine original gilt lettering in reverse for a physician offering Electrotherapy and General Medicine, original wood frame with original hand painted ochre yellow frame. In this period, the early 20th century, electrotherapy was almost exclusively a practice of alternative, if not questionable, medicine (quackery).

In the Journal of Radiology: Volume 6, Issue 10, Jan 1925 by the Radiological Publishing Company, a physician named E.B. Kessler of St. Joseph, Missouri contributed an article titled The treatment of Burns by Radiotherapy.
Measures 11.5 x 13.75 x 1.75 inches.
Very good original condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear.
