Two original works, each on illustration board:.

1. Ink illustration with gouache highlights signed Bertram Hartman for Bertram Hartman (1882-1960) and titled Skyscraper verso.

2. Watercolor and gouache illustration on illustration board painted in the style, spirit and technique of Kansas City artist Gordon Laite (1925-1978) with inscription verso that creates questions as to the authorship of the work, but probably does not relate the origins of the work. Signed lower center, titled The Devil's Fire Engine (An Ancient Novelty) verso and dated 1955.
Sheet measures 16.25 x 23 with a framed size of 17.75 x 24.25 inches. Sight size measures 22 x 8.25 with a framed size of 26.5 x 13 inches.
Very good condition, not laid down, no stain, damage or repair. Good condition, light toning and foxing, tear along the upper edge.
