A GOOD EARLY 20TH C. RIO GRANDE OR CHIMAYO WEAVING

419: A GOOD EARLY 20TH C. RIO GRANDE OR CHIMAYO WEAVING

The attractive red, white and blue weaving with black outlines presented in striking simplicity - the nicely saturated red field with crisp zig-zag vertical edging framed in an interlocking blue has a pair of floating evenly spaced diamonds reminiscent of the waterbug designs seen in navajo rugs woven in red, white and black using an interesting and skillful technique.
Measures 56 x 28 inches.
Basically good, clean and odor free with intact edges, rolled ends with crude whip stitching, scattered holes, a few old repairs including at the point of one diamond, no major damage or stain.
$400 - $800
