The fine horn powder container with wood end and plug is scrimmed SAMUEL TUCK HIP HORN MADE IN KENSINGTON SIXTEEN and decorated with small pinpoints and scrimmed lines in geometric shapes. A simple genealogy search produces an entry for a Samuel Tuck Jr (1765-1840) of Kensington, New Hampshire.
Measures 9.5 inches.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of major damage or repair, minor flaking of the surface at the large end, two bits of insect damage.
