The hinged upper portion with wood stem opens to reveal the lock mechanism and interior lined in a tin lead alloy referred to in the period as 'tea pewter', nicely patinated exterior finish with escutcheon.
Measures 5 x 4.5 inches.
Very good original condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear.
