One having a hinged lid carved from coquilla nut depicting in detail a scene of lovers attended by cupid joined by primitive hinges to the carved wood receptacle. The second heavily-carved example depicts a woman with lyre on the cover and lovers on the reverse surrounded by elaborate florals.
Measure 2.5 and 3 inches.
Very good condition, noting typical splits and edge wear, no damage or repair.
