The terra cotta sculpture of Art Deco influence covered by tan, green and blue flambe glaze is signed W. ROSENBAUER '34 in the clay body and covered in glaze.

Wallace Rosenbauer served as chair of the sculpture department at the Kansas City Art Institute throughout the 1930s and was later named the school's director where he served until 1949.
Measures 14 x 7 x 6 inches.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of heavy wear.
Provenance: The estate of Kansas City artist James Britton Gantt who, along with his wife, studied sculpture under Rosenbauer at the Kansas City Art Institute in the 1930s.
