The footed baskets of flared form with cast rims on saw-pierced designs of birds and horses with engraved detail amid trailing scrolls centering a cartouche with engraved crest, the hallmarks of C.S. Harris & Sons Ltd, London, 1908 and 1909.
Measure 5 x 11 and 4 x 8.5 inches each. Total weight 57.25 ozt.
Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear. There are no monograms.
Provenance: The estate of Morton and Estelle Sosland.In Kansas City, the Sosland family name is synonymous with both giving, and the arts. Of their many contributions to the community, 'The Soslands gave one of the nation's finest private collections of American Indian art to the Nelson-Atkins' museum (nelson-atkins.org).
