The elaborate twelve piece set in Louis XVI style embellished with hand engraved scrolls and florals includes a tray measuring 34.25 x 22.5 inches. two 8 x 9-inch compotes; a 10.5-inch coffee pot; a 9-inch teapot; a 7 x 9-inch sugar bowl; 6.5-inch creamer; 4.75-inch waste bowl; two pairs of salt and pepper shakers.
Total weight approximately 343.87 ozt.
Very good condition, noting monograms throughout and light utensil marks on the tray. The handle has been glued on the 10.5-inch coffee pot with a corresponding chip on the lower accent ring.
Provenance: The estate of Morton and Estelle Sosland.In Kansas City, the Sosland family name is synonymous with both giving, and the arts. Of their many contributions to the community, 'The Soslands gave one of the nation's finest private collections of American Indian art to the Nelson-Atkins' museum (nelson-atkins.org).
