The teardrop shape vessel with asymmetrical mouth is crisply carved at the neck and decorated in red slip implementing motifs inspired by those of the indigenous people of the North American Pacific Northwest.
Measures 12 x 8.5 x 8.5 inches.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of heavy wear.
Provenance: The estate of Morton and Estelle Sosland.In Kansas City, the Sosland family name is synonymous with both giving, and the arts. Of their many contributions to the community, 'The Soslands gave one of the nation's finest private collections of American Indian art to the Nelson-Atkins' museum (nelson-atkins.org).
