The cylindrical vessel with fitted top cover centered by a waisted hollow knob, the flared outer rim over wrinkled side walls, the artist's impressed signature block along a bottom edge, beautifully fired Shino glaze.
Measures 11.5 x 7.5 x 7.5 inches.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of heavy wear.
Provenance: The estate of Morton and Estelle Sosland.In Kansas City, the Sosland family name is synonymous with both giving, and the arts. Of their many contributions to the community, 'The Soslands gave one of the nation's finest private collections of American Indian art to the Nelson-Atkins' museum (nelson-atkins.org).
