The outsized depiction of a Northwest Coast Native American dagger is signed verso and attributed to the master carver Steve Brown who has studied and replicated the carvings of Tlingit masters, dated 2010.
Measures 36 x 8.5 inches.
Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear. There may have been a wood plug for the n=mounting hole.
Provenance: The estate of Morton and Estelle Sosland.In Kansas City, the Sosland family name is synonymous with both giving, and the arts. Of their many contributions to the community, 'The Soslands gave one of the nation's finest private collections of American Indian art to the Nelson-Atkins' museum (nelson-atkins.org).
