732: A CARVED STRIATED AFRICAN MASK ATTR SONGYE PEOPLES

The carved and painted wood mask with large protruding, hooded eyes either side of an angular nose above angular and protruding mouth is attributed to the African Songye People of the Congo. The carved, spaced lines on the striated face of the mask are commonly associated with the female Songye mask.
Measures 21.75 x 10 x 11 inches.
