58: AN UNUSUAL BURL WOOD SARCOPHAGUS FORM TEA CADDY

The highly figured early 19th century container with raised top of solid burl, no veneer, over the canted sides containing a divided interior with covers, and a solid burl wood bottom raised on interesting ball-shape feet with stamped pattern, except for one that is replaced. Some elements are solid burl, others are veneered.
Measures 5.5 x 6.5 x 4.25 inches.
Very good condition, noting one replaced foot and two restored corners.
