338: A 19TH C. ELGIN LADIES SOLID GOLD HUNTING CASE WATCH

The unmarked solid 14 karat gold case with elaborate hand engraved detail and period lady's watch chain having a seed pearl slide is mounted with a lever set 7 jewel movement serial number 2844665 fronted by a porcelain enamel dial in perfect condition divided by a Roman numeral chapter ring with inset seconds bit. Circa 1887.
Measures 2.25 x 1.5 inches with a weight of 52 grams for the watch only.
Very good intact running condition at the time of inspection. We cannot guarantee the running or timekeeping condition of timepieces once removed from the auction premises. The case is fine and crisp with little if any wear, the dial is shiny fine and free from chips, cracks, hairlines or repair. The red velvet box is included.
