The unpolished example with original sturdy ribbon is named by hand engraving on the reverse for Henry L. Benn, Battery 'F' 1st Illinois Light Artillery, 1st Lt. from Grand Detour, Illinois who mustered into the Union Army during the American Civil War Feb 25, 1862 and resigned Sep 2, 1862.
Measures 5.25 x 2 inches.
Very good condition as shown.
