The monocular compound microscope with accessories is found in its original obelisk-form mahogany case topped by a darkly-patinated brass bail handle over the single door which opens to a compartment with lower drawer having a turned bone pull and containing four objective lenses, live box, fish scale, mirror and slide stage.
Measures 13.5 x 4.75 x 5.25 inches.
Very good condition throughout as shown, no damage, repair or heavy wear.
Provenance: The estate of a collector active in Historical Re-enactment, Surveying the Frontier, Scientific Instruments. Lewis and Clark.
