660: RARE, EARLY GILBERT ROHDE FOR HERMAN MILLER

The tall chest with flat top and rounded front edge is veneered in quilted maple divided by macassar ebony, five matching drawers with highly figured veneers divided by outset central hardwood handles, dark plinth base, macassar ebony sides and foil label inside the top drawer.
Measures 42.5 x 33 x 18.5 inches.
Very good original clean condition throughout, a 3/16 x 4 inch sliver of veneer missing from the bottom edge of the top drawer. back top edge chip 3/4 inch by 3/4 inch, small chip left side top edge, side veneer missing form the edge of the bottom drawer right edge. minor light rubs, very good condition overall, the issues are visible only under close scrutiny.
