40: A BLUE AND GRAY STONEWARE JUG ATTRIBUTED WHITE'S UTICA

A stoneware jug with squared handle connected to the bottle neck and the barrel form body which is decorated by embossed scenes of hunting dogs and rabbits in a mountain landscape with split rail fence, covered overall in a Bristol glaze highlighted by traces of cobalt glaze, the base with a solid cobalt glaze. Jugs of this same design are commonly attributed to White's Stoneware of Utica New York though typically unsigned. The overall measurements are 4 x 8 inches
Crack on the rim near the handle Is a firing line, no other chips, cracks or repairs.
