198: A GOOD 19TH C. LIGHTHOUSE FORM ENGLISH POST BOX

A handsome example with perfect dark mellow patina, excellent original finish, patinated brass escutcheon, sign frame and piano hinge, apparently the original key, the door opens to reveal the original black paper interior and a hand written bulletin of collection times. According to the registry tag affixed to the piece, the date of manufacture is 1872. Measures 17.5 x 9 inches.
Excellent original condition throughout. Surprisingly, there are no condition issues to report of any type to any degree.
