126: A 19TH C. HIGHLY CARVED BLACK FOREST WALL CLOCK

A high quality walnut example displaying a higher degree of open-work carving than is typical.. The carved scrolling acanthus pediment surmounted by a stylized flower above an octagonal case flanked by similar openwork decoration, applied porcelain enamel Roman hour chapters enclosing double escapements and pierced hands, over a carved suspended shell and foliate drop pendant.
Measures 29 x 19 x 7.5 inches.
Very fine, clean original condition free from damage, repair, replacement or evidence of wear with the exception of a possible small chip and very minor paint loss from one hand, both hands may be repainted or replacement. Intact running condition though the time-keeping condition is not known.
