411: TWO GOOD 18TH/19TH C. CHINESE RED LACQUER BOXES

Two brass mounted red lacquer on leather storage boxes, the smaller with raised enamel genre scenes of the type that are referred to as 'chinoiserie' on Western objects, large rectangular brass lock-plate at the front and brass hinges back side, brass handles on the larger example.
Measure 5 x 11 x 6 inches and 4 x 14 x 8 inches.
Very good condition throughout, each is free from major damage, repair or replacements; each displays the effects of age and use to be interpreted in this case as patina and desirable display of character.
