Aaron Bohrod (1907-1997) and F. Carlton Ball (1911-1992)

Aaron Bohrod (1907-1997) and F. Carlton Ball (1911- 1992) collaborated on pottery design and decoration projects at the University of Wisconsin and at the Southern Illinois University at Carbondale throughout the 1950s. F. Carlton Ball would throw the pottery form on a potter's wheel and Bohrod would decorate the vases, chargers and other objects they created in those years.
F. Carlton Ball was a muralist and potter who was inspired by Diego Rivera. His works are held by the Metropolitan Museum ad others. Aaron Bohrod was a widely recognized American Artist, regarded as an important social realist traveling the US on a Guggenheim Fellowship grant during the depression, he published prints for Associated American Artists and worked under a Federal Arts Program before the 1950s when he perfected a trompe-l'oeil style that he may be best known for.
This work is signed by scratched signature from both artists under the base.
Measures 13.25 x 8.25 inches.
Very good condition, free from chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or wear.
