CAMILLE PISSARRO (1830-1903) THREE WORKS ON PAPER

92: CAMILLE PISSARRO (1830-1903) THREE WORKS ON PAPER

A sketch of palms and hut on A side; a sketch of palms with notation on one half of the opposite B side of this sheet and a third sketch of ships along a coastline also on the reverse B side, all are executed in pencil on cream wove paper, the full sheet with deckle edge, monogrammed C.P. in pencil lower right front and again in the lower right of each image on the B side.
Provenance: the estate of Olive Boyd Beaham Lansburgh, Kansas City, Missouri and Eagle Point, Oregon. A second work in this auction titled "Venezuela Sketches" by Pissarro, also from the estate of Olive Boyd Beaham Lansburgh, retains a label from the William Rockhill Nelson Gallery, "Lent by Mr. and Mrs. Gordon T. Beaham Jr.", Olive Landsburgh's parents.

This drawing by Camille Pissaro was bid on and won in our November 4 auction by a telephone bidder from Leipzig Germany named Roland Freyer. Mr. Freyer, it turns out, is a serial non-paying bidder. Thus, we are re-offering this lot with the same provenance and guarantee as before and again to the highest bidder without reserve.
Measures 13.5 x 11 inches, 21 x 17.5 inch frame.
Very good condition overall, there are no issues of damage, stain, tears or repair, the work has not been laid down.
