A vibrant fall landscape, the sky with high trailing Cirrus Uncinus 'Mare's Tails' clouds, a trio of willows standing at the water's edge, a hedge row in the background, the shoreline with tawny Prairie grasses and russet sumac in bold fall colors.
Dated 1939 and titled 'Kansas Meadow' verso, signed lower left front, the brass plaque reads 'Presented by The University Liberal Arts Club'. Provenance: The Sam and Rie Bloomfield Collection Foundation bequest to a Kansas University.
Board measures 20 x 24, the frame is 25 x 29 inches.
Very fine condition. There are no issues of impasto chipping, loss, repair, restoration or in=painting, lightly soiled deep in the impasto.
