99: AN INSCRIBED KARABAGH RUNNER ARMENIAN DATE 1887

An antique Caucasian Karabagh runner with end panel of red background and signature characters along with an Armenian date of 1887 with inscription flanked by male and female figures, a central field of colorful traditional geometric designs and animal figures within three meandering floral borders. Measures 13'5 inches x 3'4.5 inches.
Very good condition. Complete original sides, good remains of flat woven skirt at one end with complete intact pile, macrame and skirt at other end with some loosening and loss, a few edge gouges, good pile overall noting the lowered oxidized browns. No stain, no odor, no damage, no repair.
