12: A CLOCKWORK SINGING BIRD AUTOMATON MUSIC BOX

A German singing bird automaton circa 2nd quarter of the 20th century. The brass cylindrical domed form cage surmounted by a suspension loop and enclosing red and yellow feathered birds perched amongst faux foliage on a green felt lined floor, the whole supported on a circular flaring base with repousse bands of scrolling foliage, the verso with three turned metal feet, a winding key, small speaker and a stop/pause/start switch.
Measures 11 x 7 inches.
Both birds turn heads, open and close beaks.
