22: AN UNUSUAL OAK SLANT FRONT KNEE HOLE DESK C. 1890

A nice golden tiger oak desk of unusual form, with open pediment back board applied with carvings, slant front desk with cubby holes over a single drawer and egg-and-dart trim, knee hole opening framed by stiles with acanthus and fluting ending in detailed claw feet. The out-of-the-ordinary features for a desk of this type and period include the overall form, open area under the drawer and fifteen oak spindles on each end.
Measures 49 x 37 x 18 inches.
Very good condition overall. There are no issues of damage, wear or repair.
