97: A NICE GRAIN PAINTED DOCUMENT BOX DATED 1831

The sarcophagus form constructed with dovetail construction, the top with a period brass handle centered on the eight-point painted star, a painted border, grain painted frame and case, each end fitted with a brass fruit basket pull, a painted date of 1831.
Measures 8 x 14.5 x 9 inches.
Good to very good original condition, the interior was once fitted with two dividers now gone.
