126: 19TH C. FRENCH ORMOLU, SHELL & SEMI-PRECIOUS STONE

An ornate gilded metal framework with thin panels of Mother-of-Pearl and bezel set goldstone, jadeite, carnelian and other agates, gilded metal ornaments and a hand stippled ormolu bronze fruit basket finial. Measures 5.25 x 4.75 inches.
Scattered cracks and corner breaks to the shell panels. Otherwise good with only minimal effects of age and use. The lid does not close evenly or tightly and the liner inside top of the lid is detached.
