149: TWO 19TH CENTURY CHINESE SILVER NAIL GUARDS

Two silver nail guards with turquoise, quartz and other semi-precious stones along with seed pearls and enamel decoration,, traces of gilding. One has had a catch added to be worn as a brooch but the pin and hinge are missing. Measurements are 3 and 3.5 inches.
The larger nail guard is missing a small previously wired on plaque near the rounded end and has remains of lead solder where a pin back hinge was once placed. The other has missing seed pearls and glue to stabilize other seed pearls on the plaque at this same position.
