A pair of hand fabricated gold earrings with hessonite garnets, crafted of gold, no cast elements, currently set with French wires, measure 3.75 inches each without the wires, total weight the pair equals 33.4 grams. For reference, see page 9 of The Beauty of Jewelry, Joan Frank, Crescent Books, 1979 where a very similar pair are described as, "An important pair of hessonite garnet and gold drop earrings. Spanish 18th century."
Many scattered old repairs. Probably missing a lower central pendant drop.
