145: TWO REVERSE PAINTED SIGN PAINTERS SAMPLERS

Two reverse painted samplers of a sign maker's craft, various letters in silver and gold leaf painted in reverse on glass, modern frames. A related travel trunk that belonged to the painter of these pieces is included in this sale. The artist responsible for these was killed on the beaches of Normandy in World War II. Each frame measures 11.75 x 15.5 with a 8.5 x 11.5 inch opening.
