A friendship-type quilt commemorating Kansas City people, places and things. Such as The American Royal, The Plaza, Shockley Shack, Lake Quivira(sic), Kresge, Woolworth, X-Mas 1942, KCTRY (Kansas City Terminal Railway), Den of Sweets (operated by Mrs. E. Koolanes, KCK), Minnesota Avenue and numerous names. More than 56 scrappy friendship blocks with hand-embroidery, hand-tied quilting, green satin backing with a white pieced section. A Quilter's Glossary defines a scrappy quilt as being a quilt made from dressmaking or other scraps, this one includes a felt pennant worked in.
Measures 86 x 73 inches.
Very good condition, free from damage, repair or odor.
