AN UNUSUAL ANTIQUE DOUBLE LIDDED BUTTOCKS BASKET

136: AN UNUSUAL ANTIQUE DOUBLE LIDDED BUTTOCKS BASKET

A very good late 19th to early 20th century oak splint buttocks basket with unusual features: the twelve rib design further enhanced by a top row of horizontal weave and a central band of long weave running the circumference of the rounded bottom, bent splint handle, the intricately constructed cover is hinged in two halves with eight ribs each and 'eye of god' type construction at the corners, a very good and unusual example.
Measures 13 x 14 x 12 inches with the handle.
Very, very good condition, free from damage, repair, wear, stain, loss or condition issue of any type.
$150 - $250
