A rare, probably unique, paneled pine ice cream freezer with figural 5 cent cone. The paneled pine cabinet with red, white and blue painted advertising, 'LOUISIANA PURCHASE EXPOSITION EXCLUSIVE' Pevely Super Test Ice Cream, Pints Quarts Bars 5 Cents, The figural cone made from stacked and turned woods, topped by a painted composition scoop of ice cream, mounted in a brass fitting on the hinged lift top that opens to access four zinc ice cream containers, the tin lined lower compartment apparently served as the ice box and drainage trough. The Kerckhoff family of St. Louis, Missouri, home of the 1904 World's Fair, founded the Pevely Dairy in the 1880s and did business from their locations at 1001 South Grand Boulevard and 3626 Chouteau Avenue in St. Louis through 1989.
Cabinet measures 44 x 42 x 23.5 with mounted ice cream cone measuring 18.5 inches tall.
Very good intact condition, free from damage, repair, alteration or heavy wear.
