16: A LARGE FRENCH 1878 PARIS EXPOSITION STATUE CLOCK

A monumental centerpiece clock, the urn form body topped by a finial with scrolls, cornucopias spilling fruit on either side of the engraved rouge marble dial with gilt Roman numerals and lettering that reads: Exposition Universelle 1878 Paris (The Paris World's Fair), brass plate movement signed Blot & Prouard along with the circular Marti medallion mark, Hippocampus figures supporting the movement case, all of this raised on a boat shape support with ladies heads and a conforming rouge marble base.
Measures 30 x 18 x 9 inches.
Good condition, noting the gold repaint and a crack in the rouge marble dial, one broken hand.
