Richard Turner (1935-2012)
Untitled (Circa 1975)
Signed lower right front and verso 'Turner.' Displayed in frame made by the artist. Richard Turner was an enigmatic artist and antique dealer who lived his entire life on the family farm near Greenridge, Missouri, but for the time he spent at The Kansas City Art Institute off-and on throughout the 1970s, after which he produced a series of abstract compositions - including the painting offered here. He wouldn't paint again for forty years, when in the early 21st century he suddenly began producing skillfully rendered, impressionist landscapes of rural Missouri scenes. Examples of these compositions are included in this catalog as well.
Canvas measures 39.5 x 51.5, the frame is 41 x 53 inches.
Very good original untouched condition. There are no condition issues. There are no losses, no scratches, no punctures, no in-painting, original throughout, scattered small flecks of residue and lightly soiled.
