47: A LARGE STEVEN HILL STUDIO POTTERY VASE W/ HANDLES

The ovoid form with two small handles on each side of an inverted cone neck, the top rim opening partially closed, the ovoid body with brown glaze over a blue drip with scattered flourishes and brown speckled base, signed underside of the base. Steven Hill is an accomplished potter who enjoys sharing his talents and discoveries through teaching, spearheading workshops and publishing articles on the finer points of construction and glaze. He has conducted nearly 200 workshops, written dozens of articles and been invited to exhibit in more than 150 shows internationally since receiving his BFA from Kansas State University in 1973. He now throws pots and teaches from his studio located at 323 Clay Street in Independence, Missouri.
Measures 17 x 11 inches.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of wear.
