121: A 19TH CENT VENETIAN BLACKAMOOR FIGURE ON PLINTH

A carved, gessoed and painted wood Venetian polychrome and parcel gilt blackamoor figure on pedestal, upraised arm holding a cornucopia form torch, the headdress with Venetian decoration on alternating bands of blue and umber, glass eyes, Venetian decorated gown with parcel gilt and polychrome decoration, standing on a six-sided faux marble painted wood stand mounted with heraldic lions. Circa early third quarter of the 19th century.
Measures 77.5 x 16 x 14 inches.
Very good condition free from damage, repair or major wear, largely original, all Venetian paint decoration is original.
