190: A PAIR 19TH C. LOUIS XV-STYLE FAUTEUILS EN CABRIOL
Each having a carved and white washed shaped rectangular back with arched crest centering a stylized shell flanked by tapering floral vine above padded back issuing padded scrolling arms on acanthus and lattice supports over conforming upholstered trapezoidal shaped seat, serpentine seat rail and sides centering a carved shell and trellis decoration, raised on four cabriole legs with C-scrolls enclosing fleurette knees, terminating in acanthus leaf roquillard feet. Upholstered with tapestry covering that features bucolic landscape scenes on a beige ground. The quality and execution of the carving throughout both is better than typically seen.
Both measure 40.5 x 28.5 x 29 inches.
Very good clean condition overall, very minor age separations at the joint where arm joins support rail, three minor separations of the tapestry on the back of the chair with male figure, light even toning of the upholstery, sturdy and good throughout, there are no issues of damage, wear or repair.
