208: A 17TH / 18TH C. CHINESE GILT WOOD BUDDHIST MONK

A large Chinese gilt wood standing figure of a Buddhist monk wearing full-length robes gathered at the left shoulder, the right arm raised, the left hand missing, circa 17th to 18th century.
Measures 22 inches x 9 inches.
The original gilding, red pigment, missing the left hand, perhaps a staff is missing from the right, insect damage from the base upward somewhat, loss of the original surface.
