76: A BALTIMORE AND OHIO BRONZE SAFETY AWARD FOR 1930

The bronze plaque picturing a woman in classical robes holding a shield lettered UNIVERSAL SAFETY, offering a laurel wreath to railroad workers, commemorating the Railroad Employees National Safety Contest for the year 1930. The Group A terminal winner for that year with the lowest total casualty rate was recipient The Baltimore & Chicago Terminal Railroad Company, a lower vignette of trains passing through a terminal and lettering along the lower edge: AWARDED BY THE NATIONAL SAFETY COUNCIL, displayed on the original mahogany panel.
Plaque measures 18.75 x 12 and the board is 22 x 15.5 inches.
Very good original untouched condition.
